Three Wheeled Buggies
Three-wheeled buggies are great for strolling around the neighborhood or for jogging. Their compact design allows them to be maneuvered easily even in tight areas.
If you are looking for a smooth ride on your baby, select models with 360deg front wheels that swivel. However, they are prone to punctures, so be prepared with a repair kit.
Frame made of sturdy material
New figures show that the three-wheeled buggies, the emblem of the noughties, which were more expensive than common sense, are in rapid decline. They are being replaced by four-wheelers which can handle a wider variety of terrain, while also looking stylish and easy to push.
The bigger the wheels are the better your buggy will cope with bumpy surfaces and uneven pavements. The larger wheels, both front and rear, make it easier to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or over difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tested the buggy with a newborn as well as a 3 year old and found it was able to withstand grass, cobbles, rough pavements, dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said it felt solid to push and very solid on difficult terrain. The tyres, which are inflatable and require to be pumped up regularly they have suspension built-in. This was very comfortable for my children.
The shape and size of the seat is another thing to consider. It is important for the seat to be large enough to allow your child to feel comfortable and to allow them to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies offer the option of lying flat, which allows your child to lie flat and face you, whereas others only permit a parent-facing option.
The Roma Atlas is a great option for off-road or walking in muddy areas. It can be used as a one-person unit from the beginning and can be modified to accommodate two children as your family grows. It is suitable for infants and toddlers from birth until age 4. It comes with a bumper, raincover, an improved 5-point harness, and a big cushioned seat. Storage options are also a plus with a large basket with zip pockets on the hood, and an attractive pouch at the rear of seat unit.
Wheels with larger diameter
Larger wheels will give your buggy more stability while driving on rough terrain. This is ideal for buggies designed for off-road use. They also make it easier to manoeuvre the pushchair in tight spaces. A lot of three-wheeled buggies come with the front wheels that swivel to help you navigate around corners with ease, whereas others are specifically designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to increase the speed and stability with which they can be pushed. This can also help when you crash into an unintentional tree root or kerb as the front wheel will rise up a bit to prevent you from hitting it.
A lot of 3 wheeled pushchair s come with air-filled tyres, which allows them to tackle a broad range of terrains. They are also more flexible than 4 wheelers. They are also lighter. However, they're prone to punctures and you'll need a repair kit, spare inner tube and pump handy.
Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and the Venicci Carbo lux are among our top 3-wheelers. According to MFM's Kath, have larger wheels that she claims "perform well on grass, gravel roads and market town cobbles", and can easily go up or down kerbs. They also have a suspension that according to Kath "smooths out bumps extremely effectively".
Buggies with larger wheels can be quite large, and can be difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is a problem when you're using it for an exercise bike or to maneuver through narrow doorways when out and about. Many models have small folding options that let you remove the front wheels and store them in a more compact manner.
Easy to maneuver
A three-wheel buggy can be easier to maneuver with a child. They are designed so that the front wheels turn on a dime, and are easy to move, making them ideal for terrains that are difficult, such as parks, cobblestones, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried a 3-wheeler with her infant and toddler and stated: "The Terrain was a pleasure to navigate over the rough ground and the swivel front wheel being especially helpful. I was also impressed with how well it coped with bumps, particularly when using the hand-operated brake. It was extremely stable when going downhill or on uneven terrain."
The only downside to this great maneuverability, is that the larger wheels of a 3-wheel buggy may make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something you should keep in mind if your home area is one of the cities. If this is a concern then a 4-wheel buggy may be a better choice for you.

Bumper bar
Bumper bars protect your child from bumps and scrapes while out and about. They are quick and easy to put up and help your child feel secure and safe when out in the city or taking on tough terrain.
It is designed to complement the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller, this bumper bar is a soft and padded surface that offers a comfortable spot for your child to hang to when walking. The sturdy construction and sturdy design will ensure that your child will be capable of enjoying a stroll around town without fear of falling or leaning towards the side.
The sling's fabric is placed inside the frame and not on top of the seat that is modular. This provides a lower center of gravity for your baby at the perfect height and also provides excellent weight distribution to make it easier to push over curbs (it is much easier to push a stroller up and down than you may think). MFM reviewer Kath found it coped really well with grass and cobbles and it's a good option for jogging with its lockable swivel wheel on the front and air filled tyres.
With a chic and sophisticated design, this bumper bar will surely attract attention wherever you go. It's available in a variety of finishes and colours to match your personal style. The bumper bar can be easily removed and put in place by a quick-release mechanism. Moreover the bar is easy to clean and is made from durable materials that are simple to clean. This makes it an excellent choice for families who want an attractive and secure accessory for their stroller.
Comfort
A 3-wheel buggy provides the highest level of agility and performance when driving off road. With the perfect geometry and weight distribution, this kind of buggy is able to change direction on a dime and be a breeze to steer using just one hand. All Mountain Buggies are tested to the same rigorous stability standards and tests as 4-wheel buggies.
Designed with fabric sling seat placed snugly within the frame, not sitting on top like modular seats, the Sport's clever design permits it to have a lower centre of gravity, which is at the ideal height for your child, delivering you an easier push, a less hefty curb pop (you do not require as much weight or effort to lift the hood of your buggy up and over the curb) and a greater balance and stability. With its massive rear wheels measuring 16 inches and lockable swivel front wheels and tyres filled with air that require just a few pumps, you get an unhurried ride on rough terrain, and a smoother more comfortable jog too.
As the only pushchair in our collection to come with a parent facing seat that can also accommodate the form of a car seat or carrycot, you can future proof your family and enjoy every adventure from day dot and for years to come - all within the footprint of one buggy!
Kath the MFM reviewer, also appreciated the roominess of this buggy. There's a large easy-to-access basket that's huge for such a small buggy, plus there's an easy-to-use pouch that zips up at the rear of the seat unit, and two smaller mesh pockets in the hood to store your phone and keys.
